Today, we ran into a couple of issues. Before class, we had come to print out our chassis cover, which is the biggest component of our project. But, arriving in class, we found an incomplete print (as pictured below). To figure out what went wrong, we reloaded and cleaned the extruders a number of times, which was quite time-consuming. We also realized that having both extruders loaded might be beneficial to avoid running out of material for our print. Now, the estimated time to print is about 23 hours, so we are hopeful that our chassis will be fully printed by next class.

Also, another problem that arose were our rear wing print-outs. At the end of last class, we had set up the 3D printer in the basement to print out our rear wings. However, arriving at class today, we saw that the printer ran out of material, so it did not finish printing. When we tried to refill, the extruder could not calibrate and find the right spot to start at. With this in mind, we are reprinting our rear wings and are hopeful that they finish by next class.

Also, we have finalized our KiCad design and next class, we plan to print out our circuit on the Voltera Printer.

If the rear wings are not printing very well for now, it may be wise to leave it for alter as that is a non-essential part of your project.

That's an excellent suggestion, and it's exactly what we did.

Very cool, what has been your approach to troubleshooting, more independent or alongside Ms. Salon/Mr. Brody

We worked with Ms. Selan and Mr. Brodie for certain aspects, and we've also been troubleshooting a bit ourselves following online tutorials for the printers.

I'm now wondering about 3D printing the Chassis as a whole... maybe you could try printing it into 2 pieces and assembling it? The 3D printer always have some issue with this...

That is a great idea, and definitely something we would plan to do if we were to make this project again.
