Before class on Monday, we came into GCAD to print out our chassis. Unfortunately, when we arrived to class on Monday, our 3D print had failed. To adjust for this failure, we changed our extruder from Extra Fine to Fine, in an effort to avoid this again. By next class, we are hoping to have our chassis printed. We are going to try to print some of the less precise parts on the downstairs makerbot replicators, such as the rear wings (pictured below). We are hesitant to print the axles on the less precise 3D printers since they are very specifically designed for their purpose. We hope to be finished printing by this week so we will come in throughout the week to get things done.
As of class, we believe our KiCad is complete. Next class, we plan to utilize our time by figuring out how to print out our KiCad on the Voltera Circuit printer.




how does changing the setting of the 3d printer affect the output that you guys end up with?
I noted your 3D printing schedule experienced a setback with the chassis component failure. Your adjustment from Extra Fine to Fine extruder settings represents an attempt to resolve the issue for subsequent prints.
What analysis did you perform to determine that changing the extruder resolution was the appropriate solution rather than addressing potential issues with model orientation or bed adhesion?
For your completed KiCad design, have you conducted any simulation testing to verify electrical performance before proceeding with physical fabrication on the Voltera Circuit printer?
What is limiting you guys use the more precise printer now?
